Hosted Cloud PBX
Your entire dial plan — extensions, ring groups, hunt lists, voicemail-to-email, time-based routing — hosted on redundant nodes and managed from a web console. Add a seat in under a minute.
“Technology in Service of Business.”
Your PBX moves off the cupboard wall and into our Johannesburg and Cape Town nodes — on generator, on UPS, on our backbone. Extensions follow your staff to the branch, the laptop, the handset and the car. One number, one bill, and no missed call because a substation tripped.
Unified Voice
We replace ageing PABX hardware with a hosted platform your team controls from a browser. No cabinet, no maintenance contract on dying equipment, no engineer call-out to add an extension.
Your entire dial plan — extensions, ring groups, hunt lists, voicemail-to-email, time-based routing — hosted on redundant nodes and managed from a web console. Add a seat in under a minute.
Channels sized to your real concurrency, not your headcount. New national 087 numbers, geographic numbers in any dialling code, and per-second billing on outbound.
Queues with position announcements, skills-based routing, wallboards, whisper and barge for supervisors, and call recording retained to your compliance policy.
Keep Teams as the interface your staff already know and route the calls over our trunks. Your numbers, our rates — without Microsoft calling plans.
Yealink and Grandstream desk phones provisioned before they reach you — plug in and they register. Or run the softphone on Windows, macOS, iPhone and Android and carry the extension anywhere.
LTE backup on the router, PoE switching on UPS, and automatic divert to mobile if a site drops. The platform is redundant across two provinces — your building is no longer a single point of failure.
Seat Pricing
Every seat includes the extension, voicemail-to-email, the softphone, and free calling to every other extension on your system — in any branch, in any city.
All seats: flat-rate billing — Tan Tech does not charge VAT · month-to-month on 30 days written notice · SIP channels and outbound call rates quoted against your actual traffic profile · number porting handled by our engineers at no charge · handsets available outright or on the seat.

Changeover
The number on your letterhead, your vehicles and fifteen years of directory listings does not change. Our engineers run the port and the cutover — you keep answering throughout.
We count real concurrency from your current bills, not seats, and quote channels against it. Most estates are paying for lines they have never used simultaneously.
Your dial plan is built, handsets provisioned and tested on temporary numbers while your existing lines carry on working. Nothing is switched until it is proven.
The port lands on a date you choose, normally after hours. An engineer is on the line for the window itself, with the old route held as fallback until the last extension is confirmed.
QoS applied on the router, call quality measured over the first fortnight, and your team trained on the console so day-to-day changes never need a call-out.
Questions Worth Asking
Straight answers on porting, power, bandwidth and contracts — the four things that decide whether a voice migration goes well.
Geographic numbers typically port in 5 to 10 working days once the network operator validates the request. Your current lines stay live for the entire window — the switch happens on a scheduled cutover, usually outside business hours, so no call is ever dropped mid-transition.
The PBX itself lives in our Johannesburg and Cape Town data centres, which run on generator and UPS, so it never goes down with your building. On site we fit LTE failover and PoE switches on UPS, and calls automatically divert to mobile or a softphone if the office link drops. Your number keeps ringing.
The practical test: if the power goes and your team can still answer on their phones, the design is right. That is the outcome we commission against.
About 100 kbps per concurrent call on the G.711 codec, or roughly 30 kbps on G.729. A 20-seat office with six simultaneous calls needs under 1 Mbps of prioritised capacity. Bandwidth is rarely the constraint — jitter and unmanaged traffic are, which is why we apply QoS on the router as part of installation.
Yes. We configure Direct Routing so Teams becomes your dial pad, using our SIP trunks and your existing numbers. Staff dial from the Teams client they already use on desktop and mobile, and you avoid Microsoft calling-plan rates.
No. Seats bill month-to-month on 30 days written notice. Hardware bought outright belongs to you. Where a project involves subsidised handsets or dedicated circuits, any term is stated in the signed SLA before you commit — never buried in fine print.
Flat-rate billing: All prices listed are final. Tan Tech does not charge VAT.
No. Every extension on your PBX is on the same system regardless of city, so branch-to-branch and site-to-site calls are free and unlimited — including to staff running the softphone at home or abroad.
We will read the concurrency off it, size the trunks honestly, and come back with a written comparison against what you pay today — including the porting plan and the cutover date. One business day, no obligation.
